This is essentially a diary about one lone patient and his family's desire to spread the word about their experience at St. Frightening Hospital (c) (not a real name).  Their experience could be anybody's experience. 

No doubt many of you have heard the stories about patient's who got sent home from the hospital practically on their death bed because they didn't have adequate insurance coverage.  This is about the patient whose family believes their loved one was nearly "Doctored 2 Death" (c) because the patient had 100% medical insurance coverage and/or because the hospital feared some sort of liability.  Which came first?  The insurance money or the liability?

They believe that the doctors, nurses, and other hospital "staph" took part in a conscious and conniving effort to keep patient in the hospital for as long as possible to "nurse" (no pun intended) the patient's too adequate insurance, and/or because they feared liability due to medical errors and other grotesque and abusive incidents that happened early on in the stay. 

Whatever the case may be, on several hospital incarcerations in less than a years time - what were seemingly minor health issues resulted in the patient being incarcerated in the hospital for weeks on end.  During the most recent incarceration - hospital "staph" told patient's wife it would be "illegal" to leave and they would be sacked with a massive hospital bill.  They never disclosed the option of patient's being able to Leave Against Medical Advice. 

This family later found out none of what the hospital "staph" were telling them was accurate.

This patient and his wife were quite literally being held hostage against their will by a hospital bureacracy who feared either liability and/or desired to extract as much as possible out of patient's 100% medical insurance coverage.  Your guess is as good as ours.  Read further.  You decide.

In the end, the patient's wife ended up in court in a desperate battle to keep her husband of 47 years out of the hands of the State after "socialist" workers from the department of inhumane services arrived to take over his care.    She refused to allow the patient's internal medicine doctor to insert a feeding tube in her husband knowing it was NEVER his desire to live that way. 

Well, Mrs. Patient won the battle!   Thank goodness for Her Honor the Judge who could see right through these Men of Medi-Sin (c) and their hidden agenda.  The patient and his family escaped from the hospital the very next day - no feeding tube, no long term care, no more Dr. Hell, no more St. Fright.

Nearly a year and a half later, the patient is doing just fine, eating three solid meals a day, and enjoying the peaceful sanctity of his home sweet home, his family, and the tender loving care that only a devoted wife of 48 years can provide.

We often wondered if Teri Schiavo really needed a feeding tube.  There were reports she could swallow.  Mr. Patient could swallow too.  On a recent trip to St. Fright while visiting a friend - another family was being told their loved one needed a feeding tube because they couldn't swallow properly.  The patient's family didn't believe it and left the hospital.  The patient has been just fine.

BEWARE - you or your loved one could be the next target of a vile hospital whose only interest is their bottom line.   Remember, hospitals are nothing more than massive  budget conscious bureacracies - with or without the sign of the Cross.

Their bottom line DEPENDS UPON how much they can extract out of those patient's who have medical insurance.  Think about it, how much money do you really think is actually collected from patients who have NO INSURANCE?  Enough to fund a multi-billion dollar bureacracy?  Ha!

DISCLAIMER - Of course not ALL doctors are so corrupt and not ALL hospitals are so vile and not ALL nurses are incompetent nincompoops. There are still doctors in existence who practice their Hippocratic Oath with compassion and honesty - rather than hypocrisy. 

Mr. Patient has been very fortunate to have found a wonderful D.O. and nurse practitioner.  Under the new doctor of D.O.'s care -  Mr. patient has been reduced from an average of 21 pills per day to just 8!!  

 Ever since Mr. Patient escaped from St. Fright, leaving AGAINST MEDICAL ADVICE (AMA) - there have been no wild fluctuations of meds, unlike during his internment under his doctor of internment (er, internal) medicine.  And no more lengthy hospital visits every few months!

There are still hospitals out there where arrogance has not permeated its "staph" from the bottom to the top of the food chain like a bacterial infection.  Where Patient Care Services means just that.  Where the CEO is not just an arrogant figure head.  And where Nuns cloaked in the black robe of faith, actually have faith.

Let me tell you something folks, it ain't gonna change.  It is up to YOU to look out for yourself.   When a St. Fright nurse and her doctor husband warn you to never leave your loved one's side - it kinda makes you wonder why????
